The published data includes tests booked through the app, where the results are linked back to the app automatically, and tests booked outside of the app that the user manually links to their app using a code. Read more about how to link your test result to the app.

App users are generally more likely to enter a positive result than a negative result into the app because entering a positive result triggers the contact tracing element of the app and the self-isolation countdown timer. This means that test positivity rates in the app may be higher than other test positivity rates reported by NHS Test and Trace or NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect.

19,804 positive and 81,957 negative coronavirus test results in England were linked to the NHS COVID-19 app between 11 February and 17 February 2021.

This brings the total number of positive test results in England linked to the app to 848,619 and the total number of negative test results in England linked to the app to 2,445,005.

572 positive and 3,832 negative coronavirus test results in Wales were linked to the NHS COVID-19 app between 11 February and 17 February 2021.

This brings the total number of positive test results in Wales linked to the app to 45,451 and the total number of negative test results in Wales linked to the app to 136,622.
