You may get the following error message when you try to link your coronavirus (COVID-19) test result to the app:

‘Code not recognised. Please make sure you are using a valid code.’

If you get this message, check that you've entered the code correctly.

If you've entered the code correctly and still get this message, it's because you've entered the code multiple times.

If your code has linked successfully to the app, it will appear under ‘Last applicable test result’ in the Manage my Data section. Read more about the Manage my Data section.

In this instance, your code has linked to the app successfully and you do not need to enter it again.

If your code has not linked successfully to the app, this is probably due to bad internet connectivity when you were trying to enter the code. The app allows you to enter the code twice within a 4 hour period. If both attempts fail, the code is no longer valid and you'll get this error message.

You'll still be able to take part in regular contact tracing, outside of the app. When you test positive for coronavirus, NHS Test and Trace, or NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect will contact you and ask who you've been in close contact with.
