If an outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) is associated with your venue, your local health protection team or local authority will advise you on the action to take depending on the circumstances. Read more information on how to recognise, contain and report incidents of coronavirus at your venue.

It may be identified that people who visited your venue on a particular day are at risk and should receive an alert. The NHS QR code process means people who have checked into the venue with the NHS COVID-19 app can be alerted anonymously. Read more about how it's decided whether someone gets an alert.

Contact tracing teams do not know how many people get an alert message. The alert message does not identify the venue. It only tells someone that they've been to a venue where they may have come into contact with coronavirus (COVID-19).

If an alert is sent to app users who’ve visited your venue, you will be informed of this. Read more about how you will know if an alert is sent to visitors to your venue.
